Buy a one-time top-up pack on the <a href=\"https:\/\/account.upwex.io\/credits\">AI Credits page<\/a>: extra credits are added to your balance the moment payment clears, never expire, and stay there until used.<\/p>\n<h2>Where the Top Up button lives<\/h2>\n<p>Open <a href=\"https:\/\/account.upwex.io\/credits\">account.upwex.io\/credits<\/a> from the left sidebar (<em>Account \u2192 Credits<\/em>). The page header shows four hero cards:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Credits Remaining<\/strong> \u2013 green; the balance available right now (plan pool + extra)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Credits Used<\/strong> \u2013 how many credits the team has spent in the current billing cycle<\/li>\n<li><strong>Total Credits<\/strong> \u2013 your plan&#8217;s monthly allowance<\/li>\n<li><strong>Extra Credits<\/strong> \u2013 purchased top-ups that never expire, with a blue <strong>Top Up<\/strong> button next to the number<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Click <strong>Top Up<\/strong>. A modal opens with the credit-pack picker.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/help\/ss-bp-02-credits-topup.png\" alt=\"Credits page with four hero cards and the Top Up modal overlay showing the pack slider, the per-credit rate, a discount badge, a savings banner, and the Buy button\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Pick a pack with the slider<\/h2>\n<p>The Top Up modal uses a single slider with six stops \u2013 100, 250, 500, 1k, 2.5k, 5k. Drag the handle (or click any tick label) to switch packs. The price card below updates instantly:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Pack size in big type<\/strong> \u2013 e.g. <em>1 000 credits<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong>Total price in big type<\/strong> \u2013 the current price for the selected pack<\/li>\n<li><strong>Per-credit rate<\/strong> \u2013 small grey text showing the price per credit for that pack<\/li>\n<li><strong>Discount badge<\/strong> \u2013 green pill showing the volume discount (only on packs above 100; the 100-credit pack is the base rate)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Savings banner<\/strong> \u2013 shows how much you save compared with buying the same number of credits at the base per-credit rate<\/li>\n<li><strong>Confirm button<\/strong> \u2013 full-width green, labelled with the selected pack and its price<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>The six packs<\/h2>\n<p>Top-ups come in six fixed sizes \u2013 <strong>100, 250, 500, 1 000, 2 500 and 5 000 credits<\/strong>. Pricing is fixed (no surge, no regional adjustment), and the bigger the pack, the lower the price per credit: the volume discount grows with pack size, so the largest pack has the best per-credit rate. The 100-credit pack is the base rate.<\/p>\n<p>The exact price, per-credit rate, discount and savings for each pack are always shown live in the Top Up modal \u2013 drag the slider to any pack to see its current numbers.<\/p>\n<h2>What happens when you click Buy<\/h2>\n<p>Upwex doesn&#8217;t redirect you to Stripe Checkout. Instead, it creates a one-off Stripe invoice, charges the same payment method that pays for your subscription (off-session, no card form to fill in), and finalises the purchase in the background. Specifically:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>You click <strong>Buy N Credits<\/strong> for the selected pack.<\/li>\n<li>Upwex sends a request to the billing API; Stripe creates and finalises an invoice using your saved card.<\/li>\n<li>On success \u2013 the modal closes, a toast confirmation appears, the <em>Extra Credits<\/em> hero card updates immediately (no page reload needed), and the new transaction is added to <em>Usage History<\/em> with a <strong>+N credits<\/strong> green badge.<\/li>\n<li>If the card declines or anything else fails \u2013 the modal stays open with an inline error and your balance is unchanged. No partial state.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Because the charge runs on your subscription&#8217;s saved card, top-ups inherit your subscription&#8217;s invoicing settings \u2013 receipt email, VAT, and tax-ID rules all apply.<\/p>\n<h2>You need an active subscription<\/h2>\n<p>Top-ups are an add-on to a paid plan, not a replacement for one. If your subscription has been cancelled or has lapsed, the Top Up modal shows the hint <em>&#8220;Subscribe to purchase&#8221;<\/em> instead of the Buy button. Re-activate your plan from the <a href=\"https:\/\/account.upwex.io\/billing\">Billing<\/a> page first, then come back to top up.<\/p>\n<h2>Who on the team can top up<\/h2>\n<p>Only <strong>Owner<\/strong> and <strong>Admin<\/strong> roles see the Top Up button on the Credits page. Members see the same balance, the same Usage History, and the same plan info, but the Top Up button isn&#8217;t rendered for their role \u2013 keeping spend control in the hands of whoever manages billing.<\/p>\n<h2>Pack credits never expire \u2013 and they&#8217;re spent last<\/h2>\n<p>Two important rules about how the two credit buckets interact:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Plan credits are spent first<\/strong> on every AI action, until the pool is empty. Only then does Upwex draw from your <em>Extra Credits<\/em> bucket.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Extra Credits never reset.<\/strong> Buy 5 000 in March, use 1 200 \u2013 you keep the remaining 3 800 indefinitely, even if you skip a billing cycle, downgrade your plan, or sit idle for months.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This means a top-up is a long-term reserve, not a use-it-or-lose-it buy. You can stockpile during a sale and burn it across many months.<\/p>\n<h2>Pack vs plan upgrade \u2013 which is better?<\/h2>\n<p>Both add capacity, but they fit different patterns:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>One-off spike<\/strong> (product launch, agency burst, single big bidding day) \u2192 buy a pack and stay on your current plan. You only pay for what you need.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Consistent overrun<\/strong> (you&#8217;re hitting zero every month) \u2192 upgrade your plan. A higher plan adds more monthly credits per seat <em>plus<\/em> the 24\/7 Auto-Bidding scanner with Custom Match Algorithm and Red Flags prompts. If all you need is the credits, buying a top-up pack each month can work out cheaper on the credit side \u2013 but you don&#8217;t get the scanner. Pick the upgrade when you want hands-free bidding; pick top-ups when you just need credit headroom for manual workflows.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mixed<\/strong> (mostly fine, occasional spike) \u2192 keep the lower plan and buy small packs as needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Receipts and invoices<\/h2>\n<p>Every top-up generates a Stripe invoice. Find it on the <a href=\"https:\/\/account.upwex.io\/billing\">Billing<\/a> page \u2192 Payment History, alongside your subscription invoices.
